When should you have your gutters cleaned?
The right timing saves money and prevents damage: the maintenance calendar for your gutters.
The most important moment is right after leaf fall: late October to early December. Anything that lands in the gutter in autumn will otherwise rot and clog all winter: exactly the season with the most rain.
A second visit in spring (March-April) removes winter deposits, roof moss and blossom debris. If you live in a wooded area or near conifers, twice a year is the minimum: pine needles fall year-round. Two visits a year usually fall under a maintenance subscription.
Signs you're too late: overflowing water when it rains, green streaks on the facade, a gurgling downpipe or damp patches indoors. Book a gutter clean as soon as possible: repairing damp damage costs a multiple of what a visit costs.
